Dear wifeofahoarder. Covid is a mental burden as much as a physical one. Combine this with the hoarding of a loved one I am sure anyone can understand just how frustrating this must be.

Good thing he is uncomfortable on the couch. That might just be the nudge he needs to get something started. You can tell hm, thats how uncomfortable you are in a hoarded house.

So who says you can’t do anything about the bedroom? If he is terrified of the virus, just tell him it all needs to go due to contamination! hahahaha Have them deliver a few black bags and get sorting. Start with your stuff. Even non hoarders usually have stuff they can let go. You said you have asked nicely, maybe its time to stop that.  If asking nicely doesn’t get you anywhere sometimes you have to insist firmly. As a hoarder myself I am all for people not interfering with my stuff, but I think it also has to be the other way round. My stuff should not inconvenience other people.

I hope Covid is not to hard on you, that you are out and about soon and that your husband can see that changing things and letting go of a few things will make his life more comfortable! :rose: Here is a flower to brighten your day!

Thank you x but don’t think this is going to get better any time soon, had 2 x negative tests but he’s not letting me downstairs without 2 x masks m and disposable gloves – if I wasn’t living it, it might be funny, just been down to put the washing in and the kitchen is in a state – just em to clean and put it all back as nicely as I can – under the circumstances, I hate living like this it’s harrowing to say the least living with someone who doesn’t know the word compromise and can only see the absolute worse scenario

Well. Sounds like its time that you start making decisions! How about he go hide in a room and you get the house to yourself…
