ParticipantOn a factual level, we now we know that it *didnt* burn down, many ‘treasures’ were saved (I dont know if it was all of them), and thank goodness no fire fighters were killed. Despite their extreme bravery which probably saved the church from burning down. Not in any way suggesting that it wasnt appalling, leaving very serious damage. But its still there.
I say ‘on a factual level’ as what was important in your post was the message you took home from it burning down. How true that we have eachother and other resources out there! And not letting the hoarding defeat us!

That’s a good parallel…. The house has burned up far too much of my life already….. Time to figure out how to use the extinguisher ….

ParticipantHahahaha Oddsocks. 100 percent with you. Burned down just sounded more dramatic. Stone doesn’t burn that well. Does it. One more thing we can take from that. Even though if for a moment it looked like all was lost. All is NOT lost and it is worth it to pick up the rubble and debris and rebuild! Frog in the well. Pull the pin. Push the lever. Spray the spot closest to you and move “out” or “away”. Even that make sense as a figure of speech. What is closest and most important should be addressed first and then you move further away.

ParticipantDespite the flames, the bees which reside on the cathedral roof were unharmed – the roof where their hives sit remained intact, and they would all have been back at home when the fire was at its worst. Next day they were out gathering pollen and nectar as though nothing had happened.
For me, a well ordered life requires the sound of bees and birdsong.

ParticipantAnd having a daily routine like bees will help you get back on track fast after disturbances! -
