        Yes, a good metaphor!

It also reminded me of one of the decluttering advice perspectives, which is that the money you had spent buying something isnt a reason to keep it. And that the money is gone – you cant get it back!

 The rock and ice page wouldn’t load for me at first and given how essential a climbers harness is I was worried this would be a much grimmer tale of sunk cost fallacy than it is!

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately and trying to remind myself of to help me let things go. I’m trying to give myself permission to let go of things that I don’t like as much as I thought I would or haven’t proved useful. I made a mistake. I can’t unmake it. Keeping the stuff is just making it harder to get at the things I do find useful and taking space away from me. I think it’s an absolutely massive piece of the puzzle.

I have been lucky enough to find that the things I could let go have been either easy to dispose of, for the most part, or very useful to someone.

The hardest part was making the process a habit rather than a mountain to climb type project.
