ParticipantOkay, I can’T just read this whole thing. I will have to comment while I read along. I think it is awesome that you have your own thread! Everybody gets to run away at least once a month without feeling guilty.
Beth, you have a lot to contribute. Starting from your sucess to how to properly word a suggestion you have A LOT to offer and I amvery excited you are sharing it freely!
No one can hurt your feelings like family can. I agree. But no one will stick with you like family either.

SUnshine defintely helps. Nothing like waking up to a grey morning and a pile of hoard to ruin your day
I told everybody and their dog that I want to move to Australia for the next 6 months.
But remember. Job endured, and had more than before at the end. If you do nothing your hoard won’t grow as long as you learn to stop adding. I think it is perectly okay to stop decluttering for a while, to regain your strength!
Copy and paste worked for me. I copied one of m posts here to my blog. Just copy to for example word. Edit it there and then copy and repost here.
“stratified layer of clutter” you ROCK THE HOUSE! you make me laugh all the time!
Oh my stars. I just read the list of things you achieved already. YOU ARE A HERO! SO excited to read more!

Aww queeniethanks for making it to the end of my post & giving feedback too You must have been up all night
:!:  I did try the copy & paste but couldn’t get the options I needed going from one page to another within the site. I even tried making it a document but I didn’t manage that either.
May have been too tired I’m telling myself
Alas I am seriously computer challenged.
  Enjoyed the usual chuckle at your sweet assumptions.
 “But no one will stick with you like family either.” That’s how it should be but unfortunately, it hasn’t been the norm for me. My role in the family was scapegoat. And, also unfortunately, in my experience as a counsellor it hasn’t been the norm for many others too. Family can stab you in the back not just metaphorically but literally. And then there is sexual abuse at the hands of those who should be nurturing & protecting you.:x It’s great that you have strong family support; it’s something we should be grateful for & not take for granted. And I do thank my lucky ***stars*** that I now have two children of my own who are a great comfort to me and I believe will always stick by me.
I also chuckled at the idea of Job having more at the end than the beginning. I’m sure you didn’t mean MORE clutter

 Glad I make you chuckle too:lol: November 26, 2013 at 6:08 pm #105446jannequin
Hey hellobeth, thanks for another marvellous post which I’ve enjoyed reading for so many reasons. I think I may suffer from SAD too, and it makes this time of year a kind of triple whammy…miserable anyway…miserable because it’s Christmas and everyone seems to be having a good time…miserable because I so want my house to look beautiful at this time of year, and the reality is very far from all of these points. I’m going to update my own thread rather than block this one with my recent news…which is not much. Imagine, if you can, someone who really has no family, apart from mum in the nursing home. My distant cousins are just that. And although I have a good number of good friends, the way I live means I can’t have them here. So we meet outside, or at their homes. I feel kind of rootless. If you take a beautiful tree (allow me this indulgence) but don’t plant it, just leave it lying on the ground, it will die.
I am also indebted to Rachel Papworth, having signed up for her online course some time ago. I didn’t get there that time, but still have the material and a shred of hope!
hellobeth, it sounds as if you are on track instead of running to the shops (I did that too). OK, as WELL as running to the shops. I think we should all be thinking about celebrating the good things the year as brought us as well as the many good things in ourselves. chaosqueen, as ever your cheerful enthusiasm is a tonic. And yes, here’s to all of us. For better or worse, Christmas or midsummer, we’re in this together. Warmest thoughts all round.

ParticipantMy family has it’s own issues but mercifully, sexual abuse or being beaten senseless aren’t among them. Scape goat, huh? I hope you gave your notice. I am very fortunate that the family I come from focuses on staying a family even if we don’t always get along. You have expirience in counseling. I have this random theory. It seems that in a family the same mistakes will be repeated again and again and again until ne generation manages to break the cycle. Am I on to something? Or not?
:
On a more lighter note, I must remember to not eat or drink while reading your posts. I just about joked when a mental image of Job drowning in an abundance of clutter sent from heaven popped up in my mind.

So glad you have decided to make this personal thread. I have enjoyed reading this very much and some of the things you say certainly resonate. I will write in more detail soon, just wanted to say – thinking of you – now I need sleep, very tired. December 1, 2013 at 10:26 am #105449hellobeth
Aw thanks greenermum
You were very much part of my inspiration to start this thread so thank you for being interested in my tale. Writing it has been cathartic for me, helping me to recover some energy. Even if I am having a break from my own project, I can be here to help & support others on their journeys.
Having said that, I understand the tiredness thing – going through it myself at the moment too. And composing posts is also tiring. (Have just noticed you posted this at 2 o’clock this morning so not surprising you needed to sleep.) Apparently we burn more calories using our brain than when we engage in physical exercise! So why am I so fat?
Only managed an hour at the cat sanctuary yesterday, when I expected to be there for three. Even that was a struggle; I’d had enough after 20 mins
:!: Though a bit too worn out to write, I have spent time the last few days here catching up with yours & Jannequin’s stories before I came on the scene & have been very touched reading them. Somehow, I now feel like I have been there with you from the start; probably because I’ve filled in the gaps.

Love the dreamboat idiot rainy day funk file – have one myself but didn’t know what to call it

ParticipantYou and I might be s slight bit on the uhm curvey side because even tough or brains are super busy, we are highly efficient with our energy use and our great brains work on far less fuel=calories than the average persons. At least that’t the only explaination I cna come up with

Hi everyone
Gaining a tenuous hold as oomymoomy in Twitterland.
Managed to add some photos on my profile – me & what remains of my hoard in the lounge
 and my little christmas tree in the space I cleared this year
December 8, 2013 at 11:26 am #105452jannequin
Hey, hellobeth, had to have a nosey at your Twitter (there’s a phrase for a Sunday morning) and well done for your tree! Looks lovely and such nice bright colours. Must be very cheering. Well done for entering the world of Tweet and also for having the space for the tree this year. You’ve spurred me on…today is Tree Day, earlier than I would normally do it but things have been so tough over the last year that I really want the festive season to be as long as possible. Need some fairy lights to brighten self up. More on my own thread, but just wanted to say well done xx

ParticipantHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!?! Beth, I miss you! Hope everything is okay! January 14, 2014 at 9:05 pm #105454chaosqueen
ParticipantFor all of you who were wondering like I was. Beth is eaten up by the terrible task of enjyoing her vacation. Internet is scarce and accessing the site troublesome, but she is reading along whenever possible and is sending best wishes! February 22, 2014 at 3:14 pm #105455hellobeth
Hello everyone
Missed you loads & certainly need your support to get back into the swing of things
Made little progress this week with the good intentions but console myself with the fact that I have done a lot of washing & kept up with the washing up…mostly
 Thought I’d catch up with missed posts etc. but been here 2 hours and not made it to the top of page 2 of general topics yet! So be patient with me – I will get there eventually
Where is this button ‘update’ you press Queenie? I just ‘troll’ & find myself in a muddle – nothing new there then
 might explain why it’s taken me so long to get only halfway up page 2:roll: I’ve got as far as #Some Progress so will get up to date next with Helprich
I enjoyed reading the confessions thread. Here’s my first
 Found a neighbour who is cluttered too & stopped off there on my way back from coffee. D’oh! Big mistake! I’ve returned home with 7 carrier bags of fabric…still in the car…     Be back soon, beth

Here’s where I’m up to. Spent the last one and a half hours working out how to upload photos here….said I was in determined mode today
 Won’t be satisfied until I’ve sussed out how to insert a photo without having the slide thingy But will have to do for now. At least the site isn’t refusing my pictures because they are too big
 Okay top picture is the cleared end of my lounge where the ebay shop is about to be launched. The washstand was put there to stand my christmas tree and the bits and pieces on it are prezzies I haven’t put away yet
 as are the two red sacks to the side which I have managed to crop. I will load a photo of the other end of the lounge awaiting sorting in my next post here as limited to three pics per post. Two other pics are of the remaining spare room to be decluttered. Middle one has a lot of door in cos everything fell over & I couldn’t open it any further. Second one is squeezing my hand through the gap & taking a potshot with the camera
  Right onwards & upwards then….
