Chaosqueen my dear we had the same perfect idea

I had reached a plateau on clothing but today I had a breaking point and just ransacked my wardrobe! It feels great. I’m moving on. (except now I have to get in gear and get selling them…oops)

Look forward to the new idea. The pressure to keep moving on it is good but at the same time…it’s constant pressure :( BUT I believe we can come up with a good balance for us all :)

I am needing refreshment and lifting of life so I am sending refreshing and bright vibes to you all

ha ha pencils for dresses! :D

                      well…if you insist…

I was thinking if I could manage to continue this torture for yet another month (it would be my third in a row) and I think I can’t because I need to declutter AND reorganise and sometimes the pressure of finding those items takes a toll on what is already tiring with the reorganising etc

so in March I shall not do another round

BUT I need to keep the decluttering MOVING

and they are really just little mind tricks we need sometimes

clutterbug on youtube posted a video for a 40 gifts in 40 days, since today is the first day of Lent (I do not follow this religious tradition, but I am very open to spirituality in general) the idea being of giving up something preparing for Easter, she thought about giving away actual NICE things as a donation, one for each day.

                      I liked the idea

I am already donating a huge part of the things, I would say probably 60%

not sure because the selling is not much

                      the rest is recycle/garbage

but focusing, also with a “special” spirit on 1 gift a day for the next 40 days sounds nice and refreshing

it is apparently less pressure because only 1 item

but it needs to be a “givable” item

so all the other things I find will be surplus

so I am starting today to add this to the min’s and when February ends will continue only with this

                      plus the book detachment

Finally I signed myself up (again, had been there over 20 years ago) on the bookcrossing website, which will help me even more with letting go of books

today I “released” 8 books around my neighbourhood

                      http://www.bookcrossing.com

inspiration / motivation and accountability are key!

sending you both good clearing up lightening up vibes! :D

                        14. comics book

                        15. comics book

                        TOTAL COUNT 15 (today) + 105 (past) = 120 OUT

+ all past books released on walls, park benches, tree stumps in the nearabouts

today’s book identified now and waiting for its turn

I am correcting the dates on the giving connected to Lent, as it started yesterday, it’s ok because I have always been giving anyway 70% of what I declutter and it’s very nice so I feel in peace with this side of the new challenge

                        + GIFT DAY 2 = A BOOK (identified)

Yes bluesyjay, you’re doing an amazing job :!:

Something I really struggle with is the need I feel to re-home things where they’ll be used. I’m ready to let something go… but it’s so difficult for me to just throw it in the trash. That’s enough to keep me stuck :?

For example, the PENCILS — since the spotlight was shining on them  Did you toss them in the garbage? Donate them? Hoping you can help and inspire me to be less particular :)

                            THANK YOU!

                                ]Hello lovely ladies! :D

I think what really helps me move on is that I am extremely stubborn and I love a challenge, but only when it is with myself. Being an introvert, I shy away form any form of competition with others, but I am extremely “ambitious” with myself in trying to grow/be better/ etc

and the challenge / bootcamp modality works very well for me in general

it helps me focus because there is usually a clear deadline/time frame there are limits

                                the real problem is longterm…consistency

I get side-tracked all over the place

I push myself on many fronts at the same time and then crash and burn

now I am also challenging myself financially, but I feel the two are connected

so NO I DID NOT THROW THE PENCILS!! :D

they are in a pile of crafty-playful things at my mother’s house, for when my nieces visit

I have a whole bag of glue and colours and paint, and fabric and glitter and stickers and you name it just for them that my mother tolerates

and when I find more possible things I add it there

                                Quote:

Something I really struggle with is the need I feel to re-home things where they’ll be used. I’m ready to let something go… but it’s so difficult for me to just throw it in the trash. That’s enough to keep me stuck :?

I have the same problem Sts; which is one HUGE reason I hoard

I LOVE giving gifts, and tend to buy too many and or craft things to make them

and I have huge problems letting go of things without knowing if someone will be able to enjoy them use them etc

so what I am doing NOW is this:

I have some categories in which things go, in a certain order more or less

and in the meantime, I keep looking for more possible ways to let go (like subscribing again to the bookcrossing website, finding out of other places in my city, although I do not have a car so it’s tough for me to go around with huge bags on the bus)

                                1. consignment store

that’s my first possible “batch” it’s 20 min walk from here

Xadta, I also need the money, as much as possible, so my first thing is trying to sell

I am uncomfortable meeting people and selling online, but I have started to prepare some groups of books I shall try to sell, at a very low price on a free website, giving myself a time frame

                                2. donation

I have a lady I know who is in need, and I can leave her things very 2 weeks, today I have a huge bag I shall bring her (with the bus)

so what is not sold goes there

                                3. gift to friends and family

not much because they tend to all be full of stuff, but I immediately put specific things aside for them

                                4. a separate bags of things that I would not donate, but there are gipsies all around the city who go through the trash many times a day, and they bring away things they can use, so I prepare a separate bag from trash, with things I know they will take (maybe a broken appliance, they can fix or use the parts for, or clothing not 100% fine and so on)

                                5. finally recycle and trash, really things that are broken, and beyond salvageable…

                                Hope this helps

this morning I was planning on going to the consignment store and other errands but I am exhausted and need to rest I will be leaving soon and busy afternoon and tomorrow working most of the day and Sunday babysitting, so I am trying to rest + read + update my budget + hopefully start finding items for Saturday and Sunday…

                                have a great day!

                                  DAY 16 = 16 ITEMS

1 – 10. cute oven ceramic shapes for baking, different shapes

                                  11. suit jacket

                                  12. another suit jacket

                                  13. suit trousers

                                  14. book

                                  16. decoration

                                  TOTAL COUNT 16 (today) + 120 (past) = 136 OUT

+ book to be released (still need to identify, will not be going on wildlife release tour till Monday so giving myself that deadline) + 1 is waiting from yesterday
